Knows every pet by heart
Do not restrain your pet during the seizure. Move away furniture or objects that could cause injury.
Time the seizure. Note when it starts and ends. Seizures lasting over 3 minutes are a medical emergency.
Keep the area quiet and dim. Loud noises and bright lights can worsen the episode.
Do not put anything in the mouth. Pets cannot swallow their tongue, and you could be bitten.
After the seizure ends, keep your pet warm and speak gently. They may be confused or disoriented for several minutes.
If the seizure lasts more than 3 minutes, happens in clusters, or your pet does not recover within 30 minutes, go to the emergency vet immediately.
