Do not induce vomiting unless a vet specifically tells you to. Some substances cause more damage coming back up.
Call your vet or a poison hotline right away. Have the packaging or substance name ready.
Keep your pet calm and still. Do not give food, water, or home remedies unless a vet instructs you to.
Collect a sample of the substance or vomit if available and bring it to the vet for identification.
Common household poisons include chocolate, xylitol, grapes, onions, lilies for cats, and antifreeze. Time is critical, so call your vet now.
