Knows every pet by heart
Keep your pet as still as possible. Do not try to set or splint the bone yourself because you may cause more damage.
Use a flat, rigid surface such as a board, baking sheet, or firm pillow as a stretcher if you need to move your pet.
Stabilize the injured area by wrapping loosely with a towel or blanket. Do not wrap tightly because it may cut circulation.
Control any bleeding with gentle pressure using a clean cloth. Open fractures need immediate vet attention.
Transport carefully to the vet. Support the injured limb and avoid sudden movement during transport.
If bone is visible, your pet cannot stand, or there is major swelling, go to the emergency vet immediately. Do not give human painkillers because they are toxic to pets.
